Located in Harvey, Michigan, (Upper Peninsula) the newly expanded Ojibwa Casino Marquette celebrated a soft opening on December 20, 2019, with a grand opening planned for March or April 2020. The new digs offer a casino floor that is twice the size as the previous one, more than double the number of slots, and approximately 10 live tables for blackjack, craps, roulette and Let it Ride.
There is also a new, cafe-style eatery with plenty of seating, with another restaurant expected to open in February 2020, a spacious, full-service bar and lounge area for live entertainment, a gift shop and a 1,200 seat amphitheater and convention space with seating for 400.
According to reports, a hotel will eventually be added although no timeline has been given as to when the hotel/Phase II of the project would begin.
The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) owns and operates the Ojibwa Marquette Casino. The tribe also owns and operates the Ojibwa Baraga Casino, which also completed a renovation project in 2019, located on reservation land in Baraga County. The two casinos are about an hour and a half drive from the other.
The expanded gaming floor at the Marquette casino includes approximately 500 slots and video poker machines, along with about 10 live tables which feature Blackjack, Let it Ride, Roulette, and Craps.
There is also a spacious full-service bar and lounge with plenty of seating just off the casino floor that features a stage for live entertainment.
Table games are offered daily until 2am.
