The application submitted by Hard Rock Arkansas (Tri-Peaks Entertainment Group, LLC) to the Arkansas Racing Commission for a casino in Pope County was denied in June 2019, along with the other four applicants. It’s looking like the two front runners currently- for the casino license are now the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Downstream Development Authority of the Quapaw Nation.
In May 2019, Tri-Peaks Entertainment Group, LLC, a partnership between casino operators Warner Gaming and Peninsula Pacific, submitted its proposal for an entertainment, sports and recreation destination to be located in Pope County just off Interstate 40. The $230 million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Arkansas will feature a state-of-the-art 44,450 square foot casino including 1,150 gaming machines, 28 table games, live poker room and sportsbook complete with mobile betting.
Additional amenities include a 300-room first-class hotel, a wide variety of dining options from an upscale steak and seafood restaurant to a modern food hall, 26,000 square feet of indoor space for convention and group events, memorability collection throughout, live entertainment venues, River Valley RV Resort, 1,800 surface parking spaces, and The Bo Jackson Sports Complex, which will offer indoor and outdoor baseball and softball fields, indoor multi-purpose fields for soccer and lacrosse, batting cages and exercise equipment.
